Noel Larbey driving
Noel Larbey again this time this page is going to be used to record the driving here. Everything is much further away so we have the opportunity to see some fantastic scenery and actually go on a road trip.
Have never been on one before but never been anywhere that offered the opportunity. here though that is definitely going to be something that we do and have already started to pick out routes.
This part of the journal is going to be used to record our places and opinions of the trips so we have our on line diary.
fianlly got round to doing some driving, got access to a car and we have started to explore. Its certainly different and we were wrong to expect that it would be as we were used to. There are even small differences at traffic lights that if I wasn't aware and did not have the advice of a good friend could have ended up as a skittles moment. Not good Noel Larbey
Still putting that behind I have now got used to it and at least the driving is done on the same sidde of the road.

Noel Larbey, Getting Around
We've discovered very quickly that getting around is difficult, not in terms of public transport but the shear size of the place. It is huge. For the first time I am going to have to get a sat nav, something I always felt I could do without. Not any more no way.
Still the referdex for the main city is brilliant and is serving and will continue to serve its purpose for all the exploring that we have done and are still to do.
This place is vast and we have to really get to grips where everything goes, roads aren't numbered in the same way that we are used to which makes map reading that bit tricker for long journeys.
Today was the day, the sat nav arrived, a sad day for us map readers, i know I Noel larbey is from the dark ages and has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the modern era

Real Estate
This is a very tricky market to understand compared to back in the UK. From renting and apartment to buying a house there are so many different variables to understand and get to grips with.
First off is open house, not a concept to familiar back in the Uk but very much to the forefront here.
Renting the apartment, sign up on a website domain which everyone uses and wait to be emailed when the inspection is (they usually last for 15 minutes to half hour) turn up with about 30 other people and have a quick look round. Based on that small window then make the decision as to whether to put in an application on the property. Then the waiting game begins, the agent will then shortlist applicants and pass to the owner who then makes a decision on who to let to.
Such a different process to flat hunting back in the UK but one to understand fast as the demad for places is huge.

Noel Larbey, local life
Noel Larbey and the local area, loving it, central location to everything, nothing seems to be more than 15 minutes away, CBD, the beach etc
So many bars and restaurants in the area that we are spoilt for choice. I think it will take us a full year to explore everything in this suburb.
Where can I start, Crown Street I guess, a very busy street with so many offerings of things to do, clothes shops, bars, cafes, it has something for everyone.
Started to explore more and have discovered the local area has everything, you coul dliterally find everything that you need within a 5 minute radius. I guess we could not have found a more central location for what we needed

Noel larbey, Alternative food types
Not a food type I'm familiar with but is a part of central Asia which is influenced by Turkey, China and India. The food can be found in a little restaurant in China Town and is known as Uigher, not sure if that is how it is spelt or not.
delicious that is all I can say, would definitely go back and can't rate it highly enough. An unusual experience in terms of flavours, combinations etc
